Description
It is the tallest lighthouse in Delaware.
Brief History
• 1906, the light was moved to its present location to guide ships down the Delaware River between Ship John Shoal light and Liston Point Delaware.
• In the 1930s the light was electrified and the keeper's house was sold.
• On April 10, 2012, Liston Rear Range Lighthouse was made available under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000.
• In May 2004 Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation signed a thirty-year lease agreement with the Coast Guard to take care of the light.
• In 2020, Ken Spicer, whose family has owned the two dwellings at Liston Rear Range Lighthouse for generations, purchased the lighthouse from Bill Collins.
