A three-story, cast iron, cylindrical tower, two of which served as housing for the keeper.
Brief History
• On September 15, 1871, a fifth-order Fresnel lens first beamed forth its light from the lantern room.
• John A. Richmond, Jr. was appointed the first assistant keeper of the light in 1872.
• In early February 1875, the alert captain of the revenue steamer Gallatin noticed Duxbury Light flying its distress flag.
• On April 30, 1894, the color of the light displayed from Duxbury Pier Lighthouse was changed from white to red.
• On March 23, 1964, Duxbury Pier Lighthouse became unattended and was subsequently operated under remote control.
