Cape Cod-style with an octagonal tower atop a stone keeper’s house.
Brief History
• Peter Daggett, a veteran of the War of 1812, served as keeper at Nobska Point from 1828 to 1849.
• August 1911, when the Boston-bound steamer Bunker Hill, carrying over 300 passengers, ran aground on a clear, calm night.
• In 1937, a 125-foot steel radiobeacon tower was erected at the station.
• In March 2016, the selectmen of the Town of Falmouth voted unanimously to approve a license with the Coast Guard that made the town the stewards of Nobska Point Lighthouse.
• In May 2023, the General Services Administration offered Nobska Lighthouse at no cost to eligible entities defined as federal agencies.
