A square brick tower and attached keeper's dwelling.
Brief History
• When the station opened on October 4, 1855, its beacon was a sixth-order lens that exhibited the light from an oil lamp through an arc of 220°.
• 1916, The tower was raised 6 FT. to its present height in 1916 to accommodate a cast-iron lantern room removed from the old Roundout Lighthouse on the Hudson River.
• In 1929, the Bureau of Lighthouses held a public auction to sell Bristol Ferry. The bids were opened on April 4. Anna Santull placed the highest bid, $2,050.
• The Bristol Ferry Lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, at which time it was a private residence.
• In August 2022 Bristol Ferry put up for sale again and was listed at $750,000.
