Description
The remains of the Bullock's Point Lighthouse was removed in 1939. It was replaced with a light on a skeleton tower.
Brief History
• John Weeden replaced Joseph Bowes as Sabin Point Lighthouse keeper in 1875. He was also listed as Bullock's Points Light's keeper.
• 1900, An oil house was built. Riprap stone was removed from boat landing.
• 1918, Removed old worn-out apparatus and furnished and installed new fog-bell-striking apparatus. $1,022.
• 1938, Bullock Point Lighthouse was extensively damaged during the powerful hurricane of September 21, 1938.
• The light was discontinued on April 16, 1939, when Keeper Andrew Zuius was trasnferred to Palmer Island Lighthouse, and the lighthouse was demolished a few years later.
